for a general consumer brand... i like "tuff stuff" stp carpet cleaner.

the key is: vacuum carpets... spray on carpet cleaning/cleaner foam... scrub with a brush... rub carpets aggressively with a towel to remove dirt... repeat if necessary... re vacuum.

its all in how you use it.

I'm a big fan of 303 Cleaner and spot remover. I won't use anything else on my tan carpets.

Your gonna laugh but OxyClean in warm water!!!!!!! Put it in a spray bottle cover the area. Scrub it with a brush and vacum the extra water. Let the carpet dry. Leave the door or windows open if possible. It works great!!!

ive used it on 15 or so different cars and have never had a problem. You need to dilute it correctly!!! All carpet cleaners say to try it in a small area first due to the fact everything reacts differently!! They same holds true for oxyclean.

A pretty popular solution amongst detailers is 1:5 woolite and water. Regular laundry detergent, non-bleach woolite, mixed in a spray bottle with water (6:1 or 5:1, water:woolite). Spray on the spot or over entire carpet, agitate with a carpet brush then extract. I use this solution in all the interiors I do along with Folex for tougher spots.

Cheers.

I'm not a big water and woolite fan. I tried it on my mats and what a nightmare. I could not believe the amount of suds and residue that were produced. I got desperate and blasted my mat with water from the garden hose and the suds were never ending. I felt like I was standing there forever waiting for the mat to come clean. I would not recommend this at all. I did use the 6:1 dilution. In general, I'm a big believer of using dedicated products for a specific task. Swirl removers for removing swirls, carpet cleaners for cleaning carpet, and woolite for laundry. Just my two cents.

To each their own; do you use rubbing alcohol and water to remove polish residue? That's another popular concoctin that's used in a way I am sure rubbing alcohol wasn't intended

Anyway, re: the woolite. Did you use Woolite Zero? Much higher concentration. 6:1 with regular woolite produces a lot of suds, but not so much that a spray won't take them out. Also, as mentioned when using woolite:water it helps to have a wet/dry vac or extractor to take out the solution. For $99 a little green machine works great with woolite:water.

Cheers.

Another vote for 303 Cleaner and Spot Remover. I've had great results, and it doesn't do a number on the carpet.

The rubbing alcohol trick is not one I really use either. I like my paint cleaners!

As for Woolite, I used regular woolite. And I do have a little green machine as well. I tried that during my adventure and it did not help. Like you said, to each his own. If it works for you, then that's good. But I'll stick with my 303.

Cool. I do like the 303 spot remover as well (very similar to Folex), I just use them independant of eachother; spot remover on spots, woolite on everything else. Either way, process and product that works for you = the right one. Cheers.

if you are cleaning up barf, blood, or other fun organics.... try "anti-ickypoo". My wife is a vet and its what they use/rec to pet owners for gettin up the ol' cat barf and other nasty's. It does wonders around the house and the back of her MDX when the pets cut loose.
