Wheels and eibach springs?

I have just bought an m sport 120d, brilliant car but I hate the ride on the runflat tyres and not particularly impressed with the look of the standard 17" m sport wheels. I have bought some genuine 18" MV3 alloys and was planning to put non runflat tyres on them to offest the reduction in tyre profile. I love the look of the wheels but am reluctant to spend lots on new tryes to discover I have made the ride even worse, has anyone done something similar? I have been recommended to try Eibach springs to to try and improve the ride quality, any thoughts?

First: you can never go wrong with Eibach. And second: you will be very much surprised how much better the ride will be with non runflats
