Thumbs Up For Passport
I just thought I would post and give Passport BMW another thumbs up. Based on some great advice from other members of this forum I ordered from Passport and the entire process could not have been better. I ordered my e90 in March from Jim Redden. Jim left in April and Yves Badji took over my account and the transition was seamless.
These guys really know what their doing especially when ordering from out of state. They have every step down to a T. I picked up the car last week at the PCD in South Carolina. I was supposed to pick up in May but I had some problems and had to reschedule. It was no problem for Yves or the people at the PDC even though I don't think they wanted to keep my car at the center for a few extra weeks. If anyone is thinking of doing the PCD option I would definitely recommend it especially for first time BMW owners. You get to drive the hell out of a car for 1.5 hours, talk to people who are passionate about BMW's, they put you up in a nice hotel, feed you and spend a good 1.5 hours going over every button, switch and dongle in the car. Let me know if you have any questions, I would be happy to share my experience. You can also contact Yves directly at yves.badji@passportbmw.com if you are ready to order, I'm sure they would be happy to take your business. |

Congratulations
Another happy h-town passporter and J. Redden alumni (there are quite a few of us here). FWIW, Jim told me that Passport keeps good relations with the folks over at the PCD (Danielle & co) as well as POEs to help smooth/speed things over for their clients

I, too, used Yves to order my 330. Heading down for PCD on July 3.
Everything at Passport was super-easy and low stress. Yves was great and I would highly recommend him. The finance manager was even able to beat the loan rate that I got at my local credit union, which surprised me. I can hardly wait for July! |

Do you mind if I ask what is Passport offering for rates? I am purchasing mine from them also (on order) and was going to go with my bank (6%).

look for credit unions. They offer rates as low as 4.5%

regarding the good customer service from Passport...
I got my car about 3 weeks ago. The dealer is kind of far from where I live and out of my normal commute. I got a note on the mail saying my plates were in and I could stop by to pick them up. Well, I did not want to take that trip just to pick up the plates. I called my CA and he will fedex me the plates.

I used the Navy Federal Credit Union and got 4.5%. My bother in-law is in the Navy and they let family member sign up. I know the Army Credit Union had a deal where you pay 20 bucks and they will let you become member without having to be in or have family member in the force. I think Navy has the same deal.

It was Pentagon FCU I originally looked at not Army. Pentagon is for Army, Air Force and Marines but Navy has there own. Passport was going to match 5.5% but not the 4.5% from NFCU. |

Another happy Passport-er here. Peter Brizan is my CA. I don't have my car yet, so I'm holding off posting about how wonderful Passport is until the deal is complete. The order process went great, though, and Peter has kept in touch since I placed my order 15 days ago.
Regarding rates, I secured a 3.9% rate from USAA, although it's 36 months. For me, the rate was much more important than the term. I think USAA has good 48 and 60 months rates, too, although not nearly as good as 3.9%. Also, as recently as last month, White House FCU was offering 3.75% for 36 months, if any of you are eligible for membership.
