335i vs 328i Xdrive

Might be a dumb question and please don't flame My wife and I are still trying to decide which one we want more. Hope you guys can help. Other than the obvious price point and performance between the two, are there any other factors that should push us towards the 335?

i used to have an a4 v6 non turbo. i thought i'd be ok with that but after a while sitting on the sidelines and watching all the a4/s4 turbo guys have all the fun i realized i made a mistake. if they make two cars that are very similar, one turbo and one non, i would recommend the turbo. turbo cars can achieve great gas mileage when driven reasonably and be fun as hell when driven hard. i think the 335i or xi would be a great car for both you and your wife. fun when you want it, reasonable when you need it.

My mom has the 328xi and theres absolutely nothing wrong with it. It's the same car, same features besides the price and performance. Just don't drive the 335 if you feel the 328 is good enough, you WILL regret it. You in the end have the luxury of making the choice. Good luck.

Yea.. we took the 335 out and did not even give the 328 a chance. I think in the end, the 6k or so difference will not convince us enough to go the 328 route. I rather have a car with better performance in the event someone tries to take us.. and if our baby is not in the back

You'd want the horsepower advantage in Massachusetts because people can't drive for shit in the state. The horsepower will get you out of trouble quick.

I got my 335xi a couple of months ago and could not be more happy with it.....i'm not an aggressive driver but it's nice to know there's 300 ponies under the hood.

When I got my 328xi in Aug '07, the 335xi was not out yet. Knowing me, I would have opted for the 335xi if given a choice for the extra HP. It all worked out well though because I love my 328xi . And honestly, with how and where I drive have never said "Damn, I wish I had the 335's power". The 328's pick up is plenty snotty enough for my needs, but it's all subjective I guess. I go back and forth driving my Boxster, M6 and 328xi (which replaced my e46 M3) and I never have that "oh crap, I am going to get rear-ended because I am so damn slow" feeling in the 328.

From what I have heard, the 328 is plenty but the 335 is just awesome. The main selling point and difference for me between the 2 is the dual exhaust on the 335. I just love cars with Dual exhaust and primarily the single pipe effect as oppose to the dual with the double pipes.

one more point for you. you said the 335 is about 6k more, heres how i justify it. even if you put 6k plus into a 328 it still will not be as fast as a 335. and if it is, then it will probably break alot. this is the reason i bought a Gsxr1000 as opposed to the 750. it was only $1k more and i knew that it would be impossible to make a 750 as fast as a 1000 for less than $5k(turbo kit).

I used to feel the exact same way about dual exhausts....until they started putting them on hyundai's and base engine Altima's. It lost something special for me. I'm just waiting for corollas and CRV's to get them.

It's easy for you since you have an M6 in the garage.

Didn't mean to offend, any Honda product is a great car, but a CRV is what it is what it was made for...to be a great practical, easy to drive in all weather good vehicle. A sporty car, it really isn't. I also don't think Corollas are bad either, they are what they are too.

And I don't have any problem getting out of that and getting into my 328xi (which I think is the second slowest Bimmer according to BMW for that model year) and ever feeling like I am slower than slow.

Does the 335Xdrive sport have the same suspension as the 335i sport?
