I have been there before, get there early and expect to wait an hour in between runs. Also lots of white trash but I guess that is standard at drag strips.

What about Silver Dollar or SGMP? Are they closer towards where you are in GA? |

So who here is a drag junkie down in FL and GA, who can tell us which strip is the hidden gem in the Southeast? Track conditions, accessibility, weather conditions, the crowd, or whatever factors that make it or break it.
Here is a list of tracks I have complied: Gainesville Raceway (Gainesville, FL) Speedworld Dragway (Orlando, FL) Palm Beach International Speedway (formerly Moroso) in Jupiter, FL Bradenton Motorsports Park (Bradenton, FL) Silver Dollar Raceway (Reynolds, GA) South Georgia Motorsports Park (Adel, GA) Atlanta Dragway (Commerce, GA 1 hour north of Atlanta) Of course those in TN, SC, AL don't count. Just kidding. I just don't live near them to know of those. I've been to all of them except for SGMP (which I drive past all the time to ATL), Bradenton, and Moroso. Atlanta and Gainesville are typically crowded on Test and Tune days, Atlanta is about 1k ft above sea level so times are a little slower up there, Speedworld is decent from what I remembered but I've only been there once, and Silver Dollar is decent also since it gets a nice crowd from ATL. Other than that, I haven't been out there enough to know which track is actually good, basically record worthy or not. Happy dragging. |

i ran at moroso 2 weeks ago. its definetly a step up from before. its really the only 1/4 mile option for us in the south east area (miami/broward/west palm) I dont mind it. I went on a day where they had a competition and test and tune running at the same time. Took me 4 hours to get 2 runs in but it was $17 to go and spectate and $20 to run so i'd consider 3 extra bucks well worth it to get at least two runs in.
All in all i'm still going to try to make it back out there one of these wednesday or friday test and tune nights. Before the renovated the track you could get 5-6 runs in one test and tune nights but it all depends on how many people break down and how often they have to shut down the track to clean up the mess. |
