Spy shots: New images of the facelifted BMW X5

Seen here once again undergoing testing in Northern Europe, the facelifted X5 should arrive by the middle of next year as a 2011 model. The second-generation E70 X5 model was introduced in late 2006 so a facelift around the end of the decade is right on cue for the SUV’s mid-life cycle.

Changes to the X5’s styling will be subtle, with new bumpers similar to those seen on the X6 added both front and rear and revealed by these latest spy shots. Larger air intakes in the front fascia are the primary change. Slight styling revisions inside and new alloy wheel designs should also make the cut. Expect to see changes to the lights next.

The current lineup of engines will carry over largely unchanged but there will be the new hybrid model and U.S. customers will be able to opt for BMW’s brilliant 3.0L turbodiesel engine in coming months.

lol, thats not going to be it,, X6 and X5 parts are interchangable on the front, thats just a X6 bumper....

Here are few pic's of the coming refresh/facelift for the X5.I've seen several test mules w/ the xDrive50i badge on the X5.Also,newly redesigned exhaust finishers.All points to the TTV8 for the X5 facelift. Thanks! PalBay
