How do you retrofit paddle shifters on an X3?
I want to add paddle shifters on my 2008 3.0si X3. I know there is a sport steering wheel and an M-sport one for the X3 but I just have the stock one.
Did the X3 ever come with paddle shifters as an option? I have been searching and I thought that it was never avaliable until I came across this site http://www.bmwusa.com/Standard/Conte...rformance.aspx So does this means I can just get the OEM wheel integrated with paddle shifters shown on the site? Of course, some type of retrofit would need to be done for that wheel to work on my car in terms of wiring. Is it possible to just directly add the SSG paddles on my current steering wheel? (I know a site that can do it for you but it is way too expensive for me so it is not an option. http://www.mrpaddleshift.com/index_after.htm) |

It is not an option on the X3 to date.
I doubt we will see it added until the new model comes out in 2012. Just take the DTC off, stuff it in sport, plant your right foot, and let the computer take care of the shifts! |

yeah, i think you're looking at a mistake in the 2008 website. if you look closely, that's not even the interior of the X3, looks like a 1 series interior.
here's the 2009's list of "performance" features: http://www.bmwusa.com/Standard/Conte...rformance.aspx no paddle shifters listed. sorry
