Just curious as to what your minimum "top down temperature" is.
That would be without putting the windows up.

Mine is 55 with the heated seats.

Once I drove it with the top down when the temperature display showed 0C (32F). I had a leather jacket on and it was tightly zipped up. The sun was bright so it was actually not bad.

Mid 40's this morning here in Maine. Sun shining, top down, all 4 windows up, seat heaters on step 2, temp on 75, fleece vest zipped right up to my nose. Just as snug as anything!
Warm coffee and a big old smile. Fat, dumb and happy!

I drove up to San Francisco this past winter - most of the way with the top down. It was about 45 deg F when I pulled over to fill up and put the top up.

If it's not raining, the top is down. Gotta love the heated seats!

Lowest I've had the top down was 54 degrees. But it was sunny and I was in a leather jacket. Seat heaters cranked. Around San Diego, 54 during the day is the "middle of winter".

Lowest I've gone is 45. The cold isn't a big deal, just turn on the seat heaters and blast your heater

For full top down and windows down, it has to be atleast 70...

I had a professor in college who drove a Miata, and said he put the top down ALL YEAR, no matter what. I didn't believe him until I saw him in the middle of winter (probably 19 degrees) all bundled up in a scarf and goofy hat with his top down.

I prefer to let the weather warm up rather than looking like I'm trying too hard to justify my purchase. I feel silly all bundled up driving with top down; that's why I bought a hardtop. Anyway, in Texas it'll be 90+ degrees soon enough.

Florida law requires top down whenever the sun is shining regardless of temperature.

What is the minimum safe operating temperature for the hydraulics that power the E93's top? On some cars like the Smart Fortwo convertible it's a fairly high 5 or 6 degrees C, anything colder and it won't even let you move it.

I've heard from my SA friend at Mercedes that they have cars coming in now and then where the owners tried to lower or raise the top in sub-zero temperatures and blew the hydraulic lines.

I personally laugh my ass off when I see a top dropped in the cold. But hey, to each their own.
