Suffering bad MPG after HPFP...

So I got my HPFP replaced about a week ago and I notice that I am filling up a lot more frequently than I used to (with the same type of spirited driving) before I got the new HPFP. Does anyone know if there is a real possibility that a new HPFP could cause a decrease in MPG?

maybe when they replaced the HPFP they re-set you adaptives and the car is just "re-learning" your driving style?

just a wild guess

I have filled up maybe once since it happened, and am now on a quarter tank...

the rest of the gas is probably leaking out on the road courtesy of your fuel pump! haha jk

Have you checked the odometer? Maybe you're just enjoying your newly repaired car a bit too much.

or the new one is working as designed...

possibly the old one wasnt pushing enough fuel , clogged, broken, etc and now your getting the full 100%

100% throttle + 70% fuel = 70% fuel.

and I know there have been threads regarding failing fuel pumps causing more gas consumption...

I hope it is just breaking in or something and not the above possibility...

My MPG is slightly lower, but not to the degree that I can show a tech and get them to replace it..

Appreciate it. I might get the techs to take a look at it if this keeps up. I'll also start to look for any leaks.

Funny, mine is doing the same. Lost about 2mpg and I drive the same as before. I figured it was because my old one was not delivering the correct amount of fuel, but the car ran fine before. I changed it cause it seemed like the right thing to do if BMW was offering.
