New cell phone.....need help
I'm looking at getting a new phone and wanted to know if any forum members have any of the phones I'm looking at, an if so how well they pair, voice commands, load phone book, etc. (i have idrive) I've looked at the list from BMW, a couple of the phones I'm looking at are not on it, i think their pretty new. But really wanted to hear some real world experiences.
The phones are: Apple iPhone 3G (does this phone work ok with my year car??) Samsung Eternity LG VU LG Incite I have an '06 325i, with Idrive. I took delivery in March of '06. Currently I'm using a Moto Razr V3, an it pairs flawlessly, loading complete phone book, voice dialing all entries. Would like my new phone to work just as good, if not better. All comments on experiences welcome... Thanks in advance!

I had a 06 325i w/o iDrive and the iPhone worked great.
I now have an 07 328xi w/ iDrive and the iPhone works great. The only thing to note is that the names get stored as <Last Name>,<First Name> so when you are using the voice dialing you would have to say "Call Smith, John" instead of "Call John Smith." It may be the same way for your Razor, but I wouldn't know... |

appreciate your reply.
that is different than the razor, i can say the name; first, last. No biggy could get used to that. Just sucks that AT&T makes u add a data plan for $30, on top of your rate plan.... Also not sure about the screens on all these new phones. My friend has already replaced his screen twice on his iPhone...not cheap. Was also worried the 3g version wouldn't work good with my car, since its older.

Any phone w/ an internet capability is going to charge you for a data plan. $30 isnt that much really.
As for phones, I have a 2007 328 without Idrive and my iphone works wonderfully.

Not sure why your friend has replaced his screen twice already (or how long he's owned it). I recognize that the screen is exposed and therefore subject to damage, so I try to take care of the phone... Just like anything else, the better you take care of it, the better it will take care of you. That being said, I did spring for the Apple protection plan just in case! |
