Rev'ing the E90 in park, how bad is it?
My friend and I were rev'ing our engines, while in park just for the fun of it and to hear that great sound. The cars were sitting in the parking lot for a couple hrs, so how bad is that for the engine? It was just for like 10 secs.
PS: Im a noob to cars, trying to learn a lot more, but still don't really know much so you'll probably see a lot more silly questions from me :P |

anyways, it is bad for the engine but nothing to be worried about just don't do it occasionally, don't go really high in RPM's when you are revving, bmw engines are designed to take that kind of beating no need to worry. |

Just think b4 you post. I don't make decisions based off one post but please don't make it a habbit to ask really silly questions as we already have enough people here who love to do that all day long.
Your engine is probably fine unless you red-lined it and held it down for a while.

Just because of your reply to shift330, you're good in my book A lot of noobs come in here, asks a noobie question, and when people rain down on them, they act all pissy. I respect the fact that you can take a good ribbing and not cry like a lil' bitch.
welcome aboard cloakster. edit: to answer your question, you're fine, and like noro said, it's more retarded than damaging.

Good save. And some advice: The function in the upper right hand corner can save you from having people bitch at you for posting something that's been asked or shared 10k+ times. And I'm not making accusations, just trying to save you from some common pitfalls around here. And never, ever, ever post the Audi vs. BMW ad!

lol, when i was looking through the forums, there were like 5+ topics on that, which got merged. Though i do think BMW deserves tons of threads for owning Audi
