Wierd problem with my Tail lights! **

I just don't understand this. My tail lights LEDs are not working properly. There would be half a line instead of a full LED line.

If i want the full LED line i need to engage the fog lights!!!

Any one know what seems to be the issue.

Yes, they only work under hard braking or if you decide to torture fellow motorists with the obnoxious rear fogs.

Uh hold your horses...

Last I checked, adaptive brake lights are on the US models.

As for the Euro models, turning on the fog lights in the front will turn on the 'fog light' in the rear. It's only intended to be used in the fog really.

Now if you install a euro headlight switch, it will enable the rear fogs to work but disable the adaptive brake lights.

In your case, it's designed to work that way and it's normal.

Blame the Euro union for that rule.

And the British Police can pull you over if you use your fogs "inappropriately" .

Nope.

We (In Europe) have seperate front and rear fog light switches. And adaptive braking lights signifying how hard you are braking. They are not mutually exclusive.

Then why is the '07 3-series brochure states this in fine print referring to the image of the adaptive brake lights lit up '*Only available on US models'

Actually, you have it the wrong way about. If you turn on the rear fog light the front will come on, too. If you turn on just the front, the rear won't automatically. That's why there are two buttons. The front fog light can be used even when the fog isn't too dense but the rear fog light is ONLY to be used when the visibility is less than 100 yards.

With the Euro headlight switch both the rear fog AND the adaptive brake lights will work. They just use the same light unit (and bulbs). If you have your fog light on and you slam the brakes to a point where the adaptive brake lights would normally come on there won't be any indication since the light is already on.

I do believe the adaptive brake lights are also on the European models. When I was getting my rear fog lights enabled (with the Euro light switch) there was discussion about the adaptive brakes lights. This was at a UK dealership and they were aware of the system which leads me to my belief.
