Audi A3
Hey what does everyone think about this little car? I saw one on the road the other day and thought it would be a nice little fun ride.
2.0T turbo would make it pretty peppy and the DSG would be awesome. Besides the fact that its basically a golf...what does everyone think of this little car? |

If u like DSG then it should be nice for you.
2.0T is a very good engine. with a basic reflash you can get 250 hp. if u see snow/rain a lot, id go with AWD version. |

Had my A3 for 4 years nearly now. Great little car, the only thing to complain about is that you can't get 6spd and quattro!
Nice drive, well built, looks good. I chipped mine but you don't get 250hp from the chip, more like 230HP, but you do get ALOT of tq, around 245tq! |

The S3 is really good but might be a bit too expensive, if so then maybe you should wait for the Golf R20 which will have the same engine as the S3 but (more importantly) should cost less and in my opinion is a better looking car if the GTI is anything to go by.

That IS a shame because it's a cracking little car. Though I reckon the R20 will be a little better.
You can get the A3 2.0TFSI S/Line, ain't that right? Well if so then pick quattro, DSG and their magnetic suspension and go get it chipped. It might be down slightly on horse power but it should still be a fine car to own if there is a BMW that suits your needs. |

my brother's got one, got it with the turbo and stick when it first came out here back in spring of 05 as an 06 model. it's a really nice car considering he has all the goodies, nav, leather, pano sunroof etc and it was like $33k and change. he's done the APR chip and it has about 250 hp which causes insane torque steer. it is a very fun to drive overall but performs nowhere near the 1 overall. The new TDI A3 coming here in the fall should be an awesome car and I'm anxious to get to drive one of those

It's a sweet car and if the only BMW 1 coupe made was the 128i, I would have bought one. One thing about the open sky system is that it really eats into the headroom so while I liked the visual effect, it made it a tight squeeze inside.
If they could do an RS3 for 135i money, I'd be driving one, but Audi will probably never put the RS3 in production because they'd have to price it at some insane number and very few people would likely drop $60k+ on a golf-based hatchback.

I looked at the A3 about a year back, but I decided against it because I could not get the turbo with AWD at the time. I drove a golf and did not feel like buying another front wheel drive golf with a bigger engine...
But overall the build quality is very nice on the A3's and they are awesome cars. If the 1 wasnt around I would probably be driving an A3 right now
