Installed Lux rings but..
The clips on the headlight housing that hold this angel eye cover on (on driver side) snapped off when I tried to pry it off (yes I was gentle but I think I put a lil too much force into it). So my question is; is this piece essential and should I get it fixed or just leave it? Thanks.
Pics of the lux rings coming as soon as the sun goes down here. Last edited by Kamando; 07-29-2006 at 01:05 PM.. |

Sorry, I am very noobish in this matter maybe because I dont have xenons and I have not investigated but what are lux rings? Are they similar to the Brex or the PIAA or something

Regarding the clip that snapped off. I think you should be fairly okay. As long as the cover doesn't wiggle n jiggle all that much and is still rather snug, you should be okay.
Very nice LUX btw. I should've put my order for one a long time ago.

I would say that piece is important It holds/insulates everything in place. Did you break it when you were removing the cover or when you were putting it back...replacing the cover was quite tricky Iirc you broke the other clip when you were installing the PMBs...
Anyways, I would just temporarily seal the cover in with some duct tape (or similar) and see if you can buy that one piece. Good work on the Lux install...

Hmm may have to wait till monday when I can contact the dealer and enquire about the part. Dont have use of a lift at the moment and it would be a pain in the @$$ getting in there leaving the car on the ground.

Very nice looking. you had me scared when i looked at the post, i thought something was wrong with your Lux kit and i was going to freak out. Glad to see everything is good though, and the Look Awesome.
As for the clip - i would contact the dealer and get a new one. Water could easily get into there, not as easily as the passanger side, and you dont want water getting into there. I doubt it will cost all that much to replace. Nice looking Pics! |
