I'd love to see a how-to for spring install. I've contemplated this on both my e60 and e85 but I don't have the guts to attempt it yet. I know I'll need to take it to a shop to have the alignment done, but I'd love to actually be able to do the install.

Funny thing...not really but....

I had Dinan springs that I placed a couple months ago. I used Loctite red....big mistake...my bolts were almost welded to the steering knuckle.

I snapped the lower knuckle bolt off and had to drill it out when I placed my TC Kline D/As...I recommend going with loctie blue FWIW.

Springs are pretty straight forward. Removed the wheel, remove all the bolts from the arm, sway bars, etc. that attach to the coil. Remove the 3 engine bay nuts, pull out the entire spring/strut combo (front). Use a spring compressor and then unbolt the top hat, replace spring, replace top hat, replace strut.

Rears: Remove wheel, release e-brake, unbolt shock, step on the control arm and pull out the spring, make sure to put upper/lower rubber grommets back onto new spring in same orientation, again step on arm to get spring in then release.

I dont have pictures, bolts sizes or anything but its quite simple. Coilovers would be even simpler because you just replace the whole strut, only thing with coils is the rears will take probably 2 or 3 times longer then the front because you have to unbolt the OEM rear shock, which is a pain to get to.

I searched on "lowering spring installation" and found this from 2010. I didn't see anything else that documented the process. Have some new springs that I want to put on - can anyone point to a DIY guide? Appreciate the help!!

You should be able to use any coilover DIY.

Less steps in the rear.

More steps up front(Slightly)

Yeah, but I know there will be some "gotchas" along the way. Would sure like to make sure I avoid those while installing...

Brilliant! Well done - I understand enough to know that I don't want to attempt this without at least a bit of instruction.

I can't believe no one has documented this process in english!!
