can this be fixed?

Hi fellas, my passenger light is a bit out of wack. See the photo and how the bulb is not centered inside the ring. My driver side is perfect. It seems that these adaptive lights are very sensitive. Is this something I can fix or do I need to replace the whole passenger light? Can I get access from the back of the light to center it? TIA.

I know some E90 guys have taken the lamps apart to get rid of the orange reflector inside, so it's definitely possible. Try searching for that thread.

You probably don't want to buy a new adaptive lamp; mine was $1016 plus labor!!! Thank god it was covered under warranty.

Yeah, I am trying not to buy a whole new light. I know Marc (mds82) been doing the reflector mod for a while now. But he have to take the whole clear cover out. I just wanted to know if there is an access oopen in the back of the light big enough for me to try and make that bulb center. It bother me sometimes when I look at it.

There is no access in the back for u to fix it, like Marc (mds82) said u have to take the whole clear cover out and that the only way.

I hit a really hard bump several months ago and it knocked my light out of place. It looked like yours except upward.

It's in the shop today getting a completely new unit.

Curious, did you claim it under warranty or insurance?

You know it! Watch yourself going over Kirby off the 59 feeder road, as I'm positive that's where it happened. And yes, the amount of crap all over the roads is maddening.

It was claimed under warranty. I decided I wouldn't worry about it until I had to go in for service. Service light went on a few months ago and mentioned I think my drivers side headlamp needed adjustment. Called me back and said something was stripped and they ordered a new unit.

Instead of calling me though, they emailed me to tell me the unit was in. I never noticed it and finally got a call saying they sent me an email about the unit being in. IMO, they should have called me immediately instead of an email.

But all is fixed now.
