The 3.0 is being replaced by the 3.0si

The 4.4 is being replaced by a 4.8

And the 4.8is, does not have an equivalent.

Although the new 4.8 is only 5hp less than the current 4.8is, 4.8 is still a full second slower than its 4.8is older brother. The 4.8is still the king of the X5's until its equivalent comes out, probably in a year or two. Just like the new "e9x" M3 hasn't come out, same with the 4.8is.

So the order still consist of

3.0si
4.8
4.8is

Dealer didn't mention if they were going to continue making the 4.8is though until its equivalent comes out.

And yes. Im a proud 4.8is owner.

I think it looks awesome, too bad, yet again, BMW is releasing an AWD vehicle late! Ah well, at least they are made in SC. Either way, I cant wait to see it on the road.
Even if the 4.8 is a little slower, look at the price difference, the 4.8is is low 70's and the new 4.8 you will be able to get decently equipped for $60,000.

Of course! FOR NOW!

Same way right now the order in the e90 only exhist as 328-335 and no M3 yet.

The old M3 still outdoes the current 335.

The old E53 X5 4.8is will still out do the new E60 X5 4.8

That is the order for now, but as we all know BMW realeases their M/// and "is" models a year or two later.

But unfortunately, just as the M3, the 4.8is will begin to look a bit dated...
Can't wait for the new E60 4.8is equivalent coems out. I will msot definately trade in.

well mine has been down today so I will have to look to see it. Sorry for jumping at you but there is so much misinformation here that I thought it was speculation again.

X5 is definitely a winner and I can't wait until my family trades our X5 down a couple years. We are well over 55k on our X5 now and it drives just like the day we first bought it with absolutely no problems!

I just hope all the new options such as Nav, rear camera aren't too expensive though.
