BMW Assist Included for First Year or First 4 Years?

Sorry, I scoured the BMW site and can't find this info. I bought my car used. When you buy the premium package is BMW assist included for the first 1 or first 4 years?

The dealer has not allowed me to transfer BMW assist and wants me to spend $199/yr for it, which is a bit much.

BMW Assist is transferable. It doesn't have to be done through the dealer. Just push the button and use it. They won't help you after 4 years is up unless you pay them.

yeah but you have to set it up by pressing the button. I never did, I guess if I ever get in an accident I will set it up at the scene lol

I did push the button and they told me I had to go to the dealer. There was some form the dealer needed to fill out for me. The dealer told me the original owner bought 3 years of service and as that period had elapsed I would need to buy my own at $199/yr. Is there some miscommunication? Are there varying degrees of service or something and we're getting confused over that?

Not if you're unconscious.

BMW assist must be set up at the dealership, not from the car. Only existing customers can modify their account from the car. The subscription length depends on what year the car is.

So, what duration for, say, a 2006 330i?

One year. BMW Assist for 4 years is a feature change in later models.
