What sunglasses do you wear for driving?

I have a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses that I just love but can't see squat on my audio LCD screen. I think the polarization on the lenses filters out the cheap non TFT display Kinda regreting spending 2k on this audiophile package. Just curious what you guys wear for sunglasses, as I will be in the market to get some new ones.

I have a pair of Oakley HD Optics that are polarized. They work great, and I can see my iDrive screen with no problems.

I get sunglasses for $4 a pair at Venice beach. I buy 'em in bulk. Then, I sit on them, lose them, break them in all sorts of other stupid ways, and I don't even care. Environmentally conscious Kilgore just loves to fill landfills with cheap sunglasses.

All polarized glasses filter out the amber-coloured display screens (so pretty well everything except iDrive), am I right?

Not all glasses apparently. Probably depends on the plane of polarization.

I believe so. The funny thing is that the climate display is fine, but the amber audio display is filtered out. Audio display = NON TFT like gas station pumps.

I wear polarized sunglasses all the time and never have problems seeing the displays in my car.

Then again, the polarization in my lenses costs $2 extra at the beach so maybe it isn't the same as the fancy glasses you guys are wearing.

I rock the Fendi's

On all my previsous cars, the polarized glasses would hide all the electronic displays, even on some of my older cellphones. Not a big fan of polarized glasses.

Polarized ray ban aviators

Old school, but none of the screens in my car have any problems with them, and the optics are great.

Something to note though, in my father's e60 m5, the heads up display is invisible with my sunglasses on.

I'm with Kilgore on the cheap sunglasses. That way I don't get mad if I lose them. If they break, I throw em in the gutter, and go buy another. I also have a pair in each car and one in the house, so I never have to think about taking them with me.

My polarized Maui Jims, Ray Bans, Gucci and Oakley's blank out parts of my i-drive screen. Not the climate control though. That's why I keep the non-polarized Tags in my car for driving. Consider yourself lucky

Prescription polarized Oakley. I think they're square wire 2.0 or something like that. Very good, but muy expensive! I can't see the radio screen with them on, buy I think there's a fix for that somewhere on the forum.
