Thanks
I knew that option but the RS19 are so much more than the carbo techs. Bit the bullet and ordered them anyway from Turner. You should get commission. I'll be recieving both so I'll get to post a comparison. Now my only weak point will be my tires Nitto INVO's but they are 255 in the front and 285 in the back.

I would have sold you my used XP12s. They would have been good for a couple of days!
If your tires are not entirely up for track duty, you don't need the XP12s anyway. They are pretty aggressive.

Dont get xp12 unless you are hardcore, and like lucid says, have r compound. Get xp8 or xp10 if you plan on getting tires.
What is this new trend towards xp12!?!? Check out the other thread where the guy had issues with xp12 - I think because he couldnt get them hot enough. |

Hawks will crumble, stock pads barely last a weekend, and even carbotechs won't last as long. The Pagid RS19 on the other hand are designed as endurance pads and take a beating for a long time. I've had the same set on with still about 50% pad material remaining after already 4 HPDE events so far. The rotors don't look trashed, and braking has remained reliable and fade free despite my apocalyptically late and hard braking habits. If I attend only 4 more events this season, it might last me through them without replacement and so I can save my spare set of RS19s for next season. Love the Pagids!

XP12's are drop shipped to order so those won't come in time. I really enjoyed using them. Not good for a beginner tho, you need to get them hot and keep them that way
If you trail them you will feel them give out from under you quickly |

pads
Ok so i ended up with the RS19's (Turner), Motul 660. I know my tires are going to be the weak link. Currently have 19" INVO's 9.5 front 10.5 rear but I could change back to the stock 19's for the track day? Last time out I used them and my only issue was understeer and the stock brakes faded alot.
Last year was Lime Rock next week is Watkins Glen which is a much longer track. |

[QUOTEHawks will crumble,][/QUOTE] What Hawk pad, and have you personally had this happen to you on an E9X. Lucid has detailed his experience with the Hawk. Is this another case? Hope that you will expand on the case. Thanks vz

I'm the one with the XP12 who had issues last weekend and I must say that I would recommend XP10 specially if you are not an hardcore driver with R-Comp tires.

INVO's aren't incredibly fast and obviously not the best choice, but I had to drive them and I drove them hard when my RCOMPS weren't delivered on time 2 weeks ago.
I was able to drive them pretty quickly and keep up with much better cars and most comparable drivers. You shouldn't be able to out drive them too easily, unless you're not driving a goodline constantly and they're screaming at you the whole time |

I wouldn't normally jack a thread, but the OP already got his pads. I am looking at getting some pads for a track day at Summit Point next Month. I ran the stock pads at the Glen last month and they worked well for me, but I would like to have a dedicated set of track pads so that I can use my stock pads to get me home if/when I cook my track pads.
I am running the stock tires, so what do you suggest?

Thanks everyone for the input. I ended up going with the RS19, Motul fluid and stock 19's. Compared to stock these pads inspired much more confidence. No brake fade at all. I used the stock setup at lime rock last year and the fade was very noticeable. I figured that at Watkins Glen it would be even more pronounced since the track is twice as long with many more turns and this event was two days instead of one. I do need new tires now though the PS2's are shot.

Great photo - I hope that you ordered it. And thanks for the input re the RS19s. I guess that is what I will ultimate get when I begin the track config for my E92. I am still in the "gathering info" stage, so let me thank all for what they have suggested. It hleps a great deal.
