X3 iphone cradle

Is there a snap in cradle available for the iphone to go in the X3 arm rest? I have the standard bluetooth kit installed in an 09 X3 and cant find a straight answer about what cradles are available.

i doubt it. much of the technology in the X3's is VERY behind. it's a leftover of the E46 3-Series, so you won't find much in the way of innovation.

i just checked the BMW website, and found this:

"The adapter is for vehicles equipped with the BMW Assist system with Bluetooth wireless technology. The system provides a safe and secure place to dock your Apple iPhone while driving and will charge your phone battery when the vehicle is running. Adapter also provides a connection to the roof mounted telephone antenna on your car for improved cellular reception. (PN: 84 10 9 182 792)
$116.95
Vehicle must be equipped with BMW Assist (SA639) with Bluetooth wireless technology. Must also be used in conjuntion with the vehicle base plate or "Eject Box". Additional equipment may be required based on vehicle model and factory options."

Here in the US, the X3 is not equipped with an "Eject Box", but there is a base plate. i would imagine, if through the website, they list this accessory, it works. however, shop around and see if you can find it somewhere.

You will need to read it all the way through as there is a special eject box for the iPhone 3G which is mentioned toward the last of the thread. I modified mine as I was unaware of it when I did the install.

thanks for the write-up. very insightful. if i weren't trading my car in next year, i'd consider doing this. the next one will definitely be iPhone prepped.
