Good sound setup for around $400

hey guys, I've been looking to change up the exhaust setup on my car for better sound but can't quite justify the price of a full setup for over 1k so i was wondering if there was anything out there reasonably priced for a good sound. So far I've heard about magna flow mufflers but I'm not exactly sure which to get and the last resort of a muffler delete. Again I'm really only going for the sound so yeah, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Resonator delete. You can change the mufflers up. Or you could run straight pipes from the DPs back. It can all be done for pretty cheap.

I'd say resonator delete and pick up a set of catless downpipes (used to save money)

that will get you a nice sound.

seems like muffler delete might be the option, nobody has any experience with just magnaflow mufflers?

I've heard a 328 with magnaflows and they sound pretty damn nice. I think if you just did them it would sound sweet. You just wouldnt see any power increases over adding a full catback or DPs.

I was thinking of getting magnaflow mufflers such as these: http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/r...n.x8in.%20Oval

but i'm not too exactly sure how they will sound like because some people say they sound good and some say they don't

Magnaflow is the way to go and replace the factory resonator with a X-pipe...you wont regret it.

I have the Magnaflow catback. I really enjoy it. Very deep down low rpms. To be honest there is a slight drone at around 1.8-2k, but it is not bad at all. Once I installed the PROcede, the drone has disappeared and now the sound is just perfect! Im on stock dps and stock 2nd cat. I think for its price, it's well worth it.

IMO, you should not do muffler delete!!!

Def. change out teh mufflers and do piping from teh primary cats back.

Here is my custom catback with Sebring Tuning Mufflers (of G35/7 and Z scene fame) reving @ minute 1:37 ish.

If your are considering straight pipe then I would take a quick look at SuperTrapp (auto). Its a customizable system, so you can always dial it back a bit. Some examples: http://forums.supertrapp.com/showthread.php?t=301

what i did was take of the resonators and put straight pipes. sounds beastly plus u are able to control the drown and i really dont care for after markets exhaust for the 335i makes them lose there appeal as a luxury car
