I wish I would know what it exactly does for money I paid! When I try to rock my car a little the alarm is NOT going off. Although ad says when bastards try to jack it up it should go off...

I thought that there was a sensor that detects the car being tilted, thus sounding the alarm thinking that somebody is jacking the car up. I do not believe that there is a shock sensor though, such as in aftermarket alarm systems.

Smile

The OEM alarm has a hood pin and motion detectors inside. So for example someone breaks a window the alarm will go off and if you leave the windows down and reach for anything or open the door the alarm goes off. Also if you try to open the hood and you open it with the car armed it will go off. If the car is jacked up or towed the alarm will go off.

It does yours may not be set as sensitive?
I jacked my car up to switch to snow tires & as I lifted the jack it went off.
