Greetings from new 1er owner

Hello all! Now that I'm officially the owner of a 128i, I'd like to introduce myself to the board. I ordered my car in May and 1addicts kept me sane during the two month wait from order to PCD. I finally picked up my car in SC last week and it's been a blast to drive. I did the Delivery with my dad and my brother (who, much to his dismay, is still a year away from driving age) and we drove back to Boston over a few days, touring Civil War battlefields in Virginia.

Already this car has impressed me several ways. I spent a night at the Westin in downtown DC, quite a nice hotel, and valet parked my car. When I called for it in the morning, the valet was admiring the car, then called over a few of his valet buddies and a few hotel staff from the front desk, and they all stood around the car checking it out. I'm sure they've all driven much fancier cars but it was pretty cool seeing my 1er get such attention from these guys.

Just today, I brought my car in for inspection, and as I dropped it off, the mechanic drove it into the garage while I waited outside. I peeked in and saw a bunch of the other mechanics checking out the car. A few minutes later, my mechanic pops his head out and asks "what's the displacement on the engine?" I told him it was a 3-liter engine, and I heard him go back and say "I told you so!"

Anyway just wanted to say hello. I'm still waiting to see another 1er on the road; who knows, next one might be one of you. I look forward to going to the next 1addicts meetup/event and definitely look forward to meeting the folks on this forum.

Haha thanks - you guys are awesome! Yes montego blue is one of those colors that looks much better in person than it does on paper (and it already looks quite nice on paper). :-)
