Question Updated footage of 20" Lombartho's @ my black E92 ~ 335i

Tomorrow, I'm going to decide on the ET values and tyre sizes of my new 20" Lombartho wheels (http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=278282). Ik know the '25' in for example 275/25/20, is the hight of the tyre, as a percentage or the width (275).

Because I probally won't buy RFT's (which I drive now) again, because of the very limited range of sizes in RFT's; I'd like to avoid driving on 20's with a very low 25-profile (imagine getting a flat tyre om them + the hardness of the ride, pff ...).
My dealer says that a 20" rim with a tyre hight of '30' is simply too high for the back axle and that I will get error readings and stuff like that from my car's computer...?? The front may be a 30-profile.
Allthough I've seen setups on this forum with 20" rims with a 30-profile at the back...
I was thinking of a setup:
(235 or 225)/(35 or 30)/20 @ 8.5x20" + (265 or 255)/30/20 @ 9.5x20".
Btw, I can choose ET values from 25 up to 45...

Please help me out before tomorrow, if possible...
Thanks in advance!

So you want to avoid 25 profile tyres and the reduce the risk of bending the wide rear rims.. Why not run something a bit narrower on the rear such as 245/30/20 on 20x8.5" rims? The diameter is still larger, but it should work if you are able to fit the same or similar size on the front.

Well, this is very reassuring. As mentioned, I've ordered my wheels last saturday. And after some talking, we decided that it will be 245/30/20 all around ... just like you suggest. In general, it's perhaps not the ideal solutions; but with my remarques and wishes, it seems to be the best choice. You know what you're talking about ;-).
I'm really curious, this saturday they will be fitted !

Yep, no problem. I'm gonna let my car clean by a profesionnal company after the rims have been installed, then I'll let you know !

first picture of new 20" Lombartho rims on my E92

Picture taken at and by the dealer himself...
Now I just have to adjust the ride hight a little bit,
put some spacers at the back, bring it to a special car cleaning company
and make a 'photo shoot' of the final result.

To be continued...

Wow! Very clean and eye catching. The wheels look much better on your black car than the white one you posted before. I am normally not a fan of 20" on the 3 series, but yours is certainly impressive.

I think the ride height is perfect. Did you have any hassles with rubbing?
