M5 Meet - Houston, TX

Looks like there is going to be a M5 meet (that is also welcoming M3 and M6 people) on August 16, 2009 at 10:00 am, somewhere in Uptown Park.

I'd go, but my car will be mid-way through a professional detailing that morning. Too bad because I'd like to meet up with some Houston folks.

I may jump on this. Any M3's going for sure? I'm available but don't want to be the only outsider, lol.

Tlud: But your car is already extremely clean! You don't need a detail, except maybe just the spot where you have those scratches on the passenger side door.

I will go but only if we can get more M3s out there because I don't want to look like a loser with all those super nice 500+ M5 monsters!

Those two scratches are the main reason why I decided to get it detailed. He will also remove the scratches.

The funny thing is that I scheduled the detail for Sunday so that I could avoid scheduling conflicts. Oh well...

He's coming to my house. Here's his website. His prices are very reasonable and he's extremely careful and thorough. He came last night to do a "test spot" on my car to show me what improvement I could expect, and I was very impressed with the results. He even went so far as to take paint measurements all over the car to note where the paint was thinner and required more care.

I'll let you know how the final product turns out, but if its anything like what I saw last night, I'll be highly recommending him.

I'm a bit late, but I'm heading over to Uptown Park to take some pics right now if the M5 people are still there.

It would be a plus if we could get local BMW shops involved in some ///M meets. I have a couple in mind that would probably be interested.

shucks! I was in Houston yesterday, but I came with my family in the SUV instead. Oh well, I guess I wouldn't have made it in time anyways...

Nawaaz: You should've taken your SUV-full of family to the meet ha!

What we Houstonians need to do is plan a big M3 meet sometime in the fall when the weather is in the 70s so we can all stay outdoors and enjoy the weather and the cars.

How about a Houston ///Ms track day? Possibly set something up with MSR Houston?

That would be great too. All I know is that I would love to have a meet with a decent amount of cars present.

+1 Or just meet up for an existing track event.
