Installed my JB+ yesterday and....
3 words.
HOLY F****** SH**!! I've only had my 335 for 3 weeks and I thought it had balls, well, compared to my 2001 325. Now the balls of this ride are hanging a bit lower. I installed it yesterday at 4:30 P.M. I could notice a little change a few hours later and I was hoping it would get better. I drove it normally until lunch time today and WOW! I turned off DSC, DTC, and popped it into sport mode and this sucker just SCREAMS! I have it set at 75% and so far, no codes. I think I'll leave it at 75% just to avoid codes. I'm happy with that setting for now. I'm running 93 octane and it's 100F + and high humidity here in Houston. This little box rocks and the BT cable is very easy to use too. Many thanks to Mike@N54tuning for answering my questions prior to buying these items and for shipping them to me quickly. Mike, I'm sure we'll be talking about an upgrade to a JB3 in the very near future. IMO, the JB+ is a hell of a good starting point for anyone looking for their first tune. Also, the BT cable is a must for anyone that buys any kind of tune. Piece of mind for $270? Well worth it IMO. |

As I posted the other week. I jumped into my JB+ sedan and was quite surprised how quick and perfectly smooth that car runs. Did 3 Vbox runs. Car will run in the 12's bone stock besides the JB+.

I've been contemplating this upgrade for some time...may have to go through with it. Nice to know that you can upgrade to JB3 in the future and get credit for the JB+ you bought previously.

It took me about 2 or 3 minutes. That's not including the 20 minutes I allowed for the ECU to go to sleep. It's not difficult at all. Using a USB cable to slide under the tab is a great idea. Makes it so much easier!

Glad you're enjoying the juice and I am always happy to helpout.
The jb+ is really a great little tune and the fact you can upgrade to the jb3 for full credit makes it an even easier decision mike |

I also thought defult settings was enough for me. Then I went 70%(I thought that was enough too). After 2 installs of JB+ I decided it was too easy to just take it out again and go 90%. Threw a code within the week. Not sure if theres a lesson learned here. I will follow your lead to get a BT ASAP though. As you guys can see, I've only been on this board for about a month now; hope I didn't catch the bug. |

steve wait til you trade in your JB+ for a JB3. then you'll see what balls is. Specially with our 93 octane and map 5 or 7. Its a fun car. I give you 2 months.

I know what you mean. I've probably read every single post on here about the JB+ and the JB3 and most posters are using 91 octane. We are damn lucky to be living in the energy capital of the U.S. where 93 octane is available on every street corner, good 'ol Houston! I've been reading up on the JB3 post's and I'm sure in the near future I'll be heading in that direction. I think i figured out that I can run a map 5 or 6 with the JB3 because the only addition I'd like to make to my car other than a tune is a DCI. I really like the look of the aFe DCI and I think I might go with that one. I've read about the BMS that is recommended by Mike@N54 and Terry@Burger but IMO...it's an ugly SUM BITCH! I'm willing to sacrifice a little performance for some cleanliness. The aFe just looks awesome. I'm kinda stuck though because I've read that the stock air filter and box does better than most after market intakes. So far, I trust Mike and Terry in their opinions but I'd like to see some hard data on what the aFe intake will provide compared to the stock airbox and compared to the BMS. No offense but I don't believe everything I read and only half of what I see. Maybe the BMS is the best option...maybe it's an item that performs well but also has a large profit margin. Wish I could buy one of each and do my own testing!!! I'll also PM you about the BT cable... |

I usually drive my JB3 335i coupe. But I hopped in my JB+ sedan the other day and it felt really incredibly stong. Prompting me to do the Vbox runs which confirmed how nicely it performs. Its surprisingly fast for such a non intrusive tune.
