Help, JB+ with limp mod

I have 07 E92 6AT with catless downpipe and BMS DCI. I just bought the JB+ from the other member in the forum. It's brand new, never install. So I install the JB+ and set it at 100% after I drove it for about 20 miles, it went to the limp mod. I took it out and set to 75%. It still go to limp mod. I'm not even drive fast and it went to limp mod at below 4000rpm. What's wrong with my car? Should I take it out and set at 50%? Or should I just disconnect the battery? Anyone Thanks

maybe your car is not 100% and cannot handle the added boost. Try to get hold of a BT cable to see what codes you got.

The limp mode is caused by the boost level not being reached. Go to burgertuning.com and look at the jb2 install guide, find the part where it shows you how to perform the "free" bypass. Once you perform the bypass you will no longer throw that code.

Also, something to note is that the install guide guide for the jb+ states that the bypass might need to be performed for any setting 75% and above.

I would drive it hard without the JB+ again to see if you can get the limp mode to occur.

Are you making sure that your ECU is "asleep" when you added the JB+ ?

Possibly one of the connecting pins in the JB+ is loose or not connected causing an interruption (like the TMAP is not plugged in), when this occurs a limp is thrown and the car runs a little trashy. Check the pins and verify if they are completely pushed in.
If your in so cal and would like a little assistance shoot me a PM. This had happened to me previously.

+1

Inspect the pins to be sure they are all okay.

I don't have a BT cable. I use to have SSTT and its doesn't have limp mod.

Hey, thank I will do so.

Most of the time the car went to limp mod at low rpm. I wasn't boost at all, just drive normal. But I will try to do the bypass anyway. Thanks

The car run normal and strong power. But just thrown the limp mod when I'm driving slow.

The JB+ is off when you drive slow. So either a wire is broken, its not plugged in, or you have some other problem.

My first guess was it not being connected properly too. Like those above have said, make sure the connector snaps in, maybe it's just not plugged in right.

Either way, you should take the JB+ out like hotrod said and drive your car hard. That way you'll know if it's the JB+ at fault.

If the wire is broken, I shouldn't feel the power gain at all right? But feel a lot more power whenever I step on it. Or maybe it something else, nothing to do with JB+. I will try to set at 50% and see what happen. Should I do the bypass at 50%? Thanks

Try to drive it without the JB+

if your problem still occurs, it's dealer time

if the problem goes away, it's the JB+'s fault

If you still have problem(s) running at 50% with the JB+, then PM me

Contact the man himself.. You are local to his area.
I went up there to see him when mine did this, it was a simple 2 second fix.. If it is what I think it is, you might want to also get those TMAP disconnected codes cleared as well.

I feel bad because I sold the JB+ to you. I can swear that the unit was brand new and never installed.

I hope you can get a hold of Terry to help you out. Hopefully it is an issue that can be easily fixed.
