Wavetrac® Differential teaser

Hi!

Today i recived my Wavetrac® Differential and just wanted to share some pics of it. This baby is going to be installed this thursday. I have read many threads about people saying this is probably the best mod that you can do on your car, so i decided to give this new brand a try.

Some info about the diff:

The new Wavetrac® Differential brings current gear technology to the market.

Internally, its gear tooth forms are optimized for strength and improved oil film retention over competitive designs.

Our gear package is smaller, reducing overall mass, yet is more durable since particular attention was paid to the tooth strength - optimized for high torque conditions.

Attention was also paid to the side gear/axle interface, putting as much material thickness as possible in this critical area - most important when power levels get high.

Each Wavetrac® Differential is crafted from the highest quality materials available.

The internal gears are made from high strength 9310 alloy steel.

The diff bodies are machined from case-hardened steel billet.

To complete the package, every Wavetrac® differential is built exclusively using high quality, high strength fasteners from ARP®, the world leader in fastener technology.

I will write a little review when this thing is installed

Here are some pics...enjoy!

Nice one Bomis, looks like the hole there is for some kind of pin to block the diff in place. Nor for a bolt or missing bolt that you were afraid of.

Hi!

Mine is a pre march 2007

But if you talk to Harold at HP AUTOWERKS, he can help you with the welding issue...shouldn't be a problem, in his thread regarding the wavetrac there is a couple of guys with welded diffs that has installed the wavetrac...

There is a solution for the welded diff already, both for the Quaife and Wavetrac.

The solution is just way too expensive than the differential alone. I mean, the diff is ~$1000, and the solution is $3700...

Not anymore. Wavetrac has come up with a solution that is only an extra 700 over the diff price.

from a reputable vendor:

"Now, Wavetrac is providing a service now for $700 where you send them your Pumpkin as they like to call it, they take the ring gear off your stock diff and install that on the Wavetrac diff. Then they send the entire thing back to you"

The Wavetrac is actually $1295 and you have a welded ring gear solution for the 3.08 welded ring gear at $1995 with a refundable $800 core charge.

So thats $1295 + $1195 == $2490 for parts, and then add labor and shipping?
