DSC with tune
OK, so I did the and found 192 posts with 'DSC', so please spare me the
Does anyone have DSC enabled with a tune? I get it kicking in when I'm in 3rd gear and find the power robbing to be annoying. However, it would be even worse to have it break loose so much that I wreck the car. Do you think the DSC is that important or are we OK with the DTC, which is supposedly less intrusive. Thanks! |

DSC is like your mom. She doesn't let you do anything wrong. DTC is like a high school babysitter. She'll let you push it to some good limits.

I was going to write a nice legitimate response to this, but I think you've covered it much better than I could.

I say it depends on lots of things. Weather, MAP, my mood, type of driving. I switch between on, partially on or off.

Can't do that, if DTC is enabled DSC is still on, no choice, from there it's back to default or disable DSC.
I think. I get so with all the acronyms. |

Baby sitter mode is just pressing the button on the dash that says DTC once. A big thing will pop up that says DTC. To completely disable traction control hold it down for 5 seconds. You'll see lots of little triangles and pictures of wheels spinning towards imminent death. Mommy would disapprove.

One push of the button will allow the car limited traction control. If you're going to launch then this is the mode you want enabled.
Fully disabled is just downright scary in my car. I won't be on the gas going into a curve, that's for sure. |

With jb+ dsc cuts in during hard accel, but dtc lets me floor it and I keep traction. awd might be a factor with me.

With an LSD and more practice, I might be game to try running w/o traction control, but as is, I don't want to do 360s at 70 mph when the traction control kicks in at WOT in 3rd gear...not w/o a LOT of practice first to catch the sideways-ness.

youll just hear a chirp if youve ever driven a fwd car with some power, switching to this car with some power is like driving with glue on the ground...just hit the button, a few seconds...and let it run, car needs to stretch its legs

My last car was a turbo RX-8, which ships with an LSD (and I drove with traction control disabled a fair amount of the time). Compared to that car, the 335i does not handle very well, so it is a little scary w/o traction control.
