ultimate shammy - as seen on T.V.

I'm curious....has anyone used the ultimate shammy(orange cloth that soaks up spills) on his/her E90. I bought a set from the mall.....and it kinda of SUCK. My towels does a better job of drying.

I was a SUCKA for such a lame product.....

No...get some waffle weave microfiber towels... I have a few from Classic Motoring and Griot's Garage and they do a great job! Much better than any of those synthetic chammois or even the genuine ones.

REal chams with the cod oil in them do the extra bit of cleaning as well as drying, which is a nice feature before you do any wax/polish. As with ANY of them, make sure it doesn't touch the ground and then your car, because it doesn't matter how soft or special the cloth is when it has dirt/grime in it.

I've tried real chamois and synthetic chamois. For the artificial ones, the best I've used is the P21S 'drying towel' - it works pretty well.

But this year, I tried some new stuff with the new car. Easily the best I've use is the Big Blue Towel from properautocare.com This is a waffle-weave micro-fibre and it really does work. Two for thirty-bucks. I have no affiliation with the vendor or the towel - just found this one works great!
