335 Steering Wheel

I have never drove another 335 before besides my own, so I'm wondering if it's just me or is the steering wheel kinda tight? It's a 07 E90 XI btw.

I have drove a 04 325i once and it was smooth, the steering wheel.

What do you mean by tight? Like more responsive? tighter turning radius? more effort?

The E46s tend to feel a little more overboosted than the E9X cars. That's something they corrected in 2002, but it's still a little on the light side, effort wise.

i mean just the steering wheel itself, you have to use more strength to turn it.

Yeah, so you are talking about steering effort. Yeah, the E46's steering is a bit more boosted (more steering assist) so it feels easier to turn than the E9X steering.

It's possible you might also have active steering which will make it feel tighter at lower speeds.

Actually the active steering makes it feel softer at low speed, e.g. requiring less effort to park the car. And tighter at higher speeds to make the steering more stable.

if that was the case, i'm fine with that. =P just thought it was a little stiff to make turns.

However, I thought XI and active steering could not be ordered together anyway, so the OT had no choice to get that.

From my expierence i drove both Active steering and Non active steering (witch i have ) and my car seems much more tight and stiff the active steering feels a lil loose on the highway but is a charm in the city.
