Why no good tracks in Michigan?

I'm looking at events out of state, the only track here is waterford hills which is dumpy. this is the "motor city", what gives?

There's also Grattan and Gingerman - I haven't been to either, but I agree Waterford Hills leaves a lot to be desired.

Grattan and Gingerman are both fine tracks and well worth going to. Mid Ohio is about 3 hours from Detroit and is world class...

Then there's Road America in WI, which is closer than Mid-Ohio, but a further drive for most of MI. So, there's Gingerman, Gratten, and Waterford Hills (still not as bad as Nelson Ledges, OH) in MI, and Mid-O and Road Ameria not too much further. Lucky you! Believe it or not, there are states that have no tracks

Cool. I'm going to get over to Grattan this spring, and shoot for Mid Ohio as well. I just get jelous with the new stuff opening near Chicago and NY...

We always had tons of fun at Gingerman.

I strongly recommend that track for any beginners. Very safe track!
