I wanna put the v8 tips on my parents 35d when it comes in, but if possible i'd like to not spend 400 bucks to do it. I'm looking for a set of nice tips for a fair price. Sources/solutions are welcome as well, i'm currently an e92 335i owner and my parents are trading in their 328xi for an x5, so i really don't know much about the aftermarket/retrofits for them.

I'd be interested as well in doing this when my order arrives. I would suggest trying www.getbmwparts.com and seeing what they can do. They usually have close to cost pricing for parts when it came to ordering things for the e9x.
