iPod Charge

Does the iPod integration constantly charge your iPod? The reason that I ask is that constantly charging your iPod reduces battery life.

Apple advertises that constant charging does not affect the iPod batteries but several of my friends who use car adpaters (Audi) or constanty charge their iPods claim they only have about 25% of the original play time. My brothers iPod won't even play unless it is in a charger.

As long as the battery needs charging, yes. Once it reaches full, I believe it maintains.

So has anyone noticed a decrease in battery longevity when not connected? In other words does constantly charging your iPod reduce battery life?

Since I've had my last 2 BMWs, the first thing I do is plug in the charger. Still lasts just as long as before.

I wouldn't worry about it too much.
