DCI in for service

I'm taking my car in for service tomorrow and just got on the phone with an SA. I asked him if I should remove my "aftermarket air intake" before coming in. He told me there was no reason too and that they service cars all the time with Dinan intakes and all...

Whats everyone think, just leave it in?

He might seem OK on the phone but if he finds a problem with the car that requires work then it has a good chance of going horribly down hill for you. If there are no warranty concerns for it you should be fine, if it's an understanding SA.

ETA: Just take them out, really is not worth the risk involved with losing your warranty.

+1. Especially since it literally takes only 15 minnutes to uninstall and then reinstall your stock airbox, atleast you can have piece of mind knowing that you were stock when you came in. I know it makes me feel better.

I brought my car in with the aFe dual cone installed and didn't have a problem but since it's easy to remove, I don't see why not.

If you're worried, remove it and I would go as far as to say that if you need to ask just remove it for peace of mind. Saying that most of my customers leave them on and no issues so far, nor would I really expect any. People have been putting intakes on BMW for many, many, many years now

Never give them an excuse to void your warranty or to blame an issue on you instead of fixing it.

think for a sec what you would feel when one day your car acting up funny and the dealer won't honor the warranty work for $100 mods that you've done to the car because your SA noted that you have aftermarket intake on your car for previous visit?
