Engine problems??

Hey guys..

ive done a search and came up on couple of things...just wanted to know if this is a common problem...

Are the 335s having problems in snowy cold weather??

I have no mods on my car except a single cone BMS intake!

The car was started this morning and took about 4-7 full seconds to start..then has a rough idle where the car sounds like its about to die..almost feels like the engines misfiring and just leaking gas...

another HPFP issue? i only have 13k miles on it...

im going to take it to dealer once everything melts..

you aren't the only one to report this "syndrome" -- some have turned out to be coil packs, injectors, the HPFP (of course), or "unknown". Only thing to do is take it in, see if it threw any codes, and let the dealer deal with it. Put the stock intake on first, of course.

I brought my car in yesterday due to the HPFP symptom and they told me they think I chipped it after they ran the diagnosis. This is BS as the only thing I ever modded in the engine bay was a BOV which is now converted back to stock. They said they will do a "good will" ecu tune and see if the problems persist. They also mentioned it could be my aftermarket exhaust causing the misfiring (I had my AA exhaust for over 30,000 miles now).

Anyone have similar problems with the dealer blaming your exhaust for an HPFP symptom? Should I ask for the code they came up with after the diagnosis? Keep us updated, OP.

The real issue is that you should bring the car in stock. Don't blame BMW or dealerships if you can't follow this basic, simple rule. My 2 cents.

anything is possible really... it all depends on dealer... there is a reason why i sold most performance parts without using them or installing them because i didnt want to take a chance... its a risk you take...

Get a BT tool and scan it. Sounds like it could either be injectors or HPFP needing to be replaced. FYI, never take a car in with an intake, they will bust you for sure on it, but most dealers will let the exhaust slide.
