Tire sizes, staggered or not?
Hey guys,
For 18x8.5 et35 rims all round, what would you say is the better summer tire size choice? Any benefits from going staggered e.g. 235/40-18 front 255/35-18 rear, as opposed to a square 235/40-18 or 245/40-18 setup? Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks |

If you are running non staggered wheels, I don't see the reason to stagger the tires. With non staggered wheels and tires, you can rotate them to maximize tread life.

So what offset/et are all four wheels? I assume they are equal. Isnt stock 34 front and 37 rear?

Hey guys, due to bad road conditions, I am thinking of running a square setup on 17" rims.
For my 335: can I run 245 all around ? Will it rub in the front hitting bumps or during full turns ? How will it handle compared to my current 235/ 40/18 front and 255/35/18 rear ?? Fwiw, my tire guy says 245 is too wide for the front. Thanks cause I need help!

1/ if i go 8.5 x 17 inch rims all around... do i use the same et35 as you are at 18 inch rims ? thinking about going 245 / 40 / 17 tires all around, 2/ if i cannot find 8.5 x 17 inch rims, will 8.0 x 17 inch do as well for this tire size ? 3/ lastly, would the 8.0 x 17 rims use the same et35 (?) as an 8.5 x 17 inch rim ? sorry about all the questions - but i do not know suspension or rims and tires. ... you can ask me about engine mods though LOL ! thanks a lot

The narrower rim will allow more sidewall flex = a little bit less performance but should provide a quieter, more comfortable ride.

However, as the person above me stated, go for 18s - you definately won't regret it! They are fine even for bad roads. I personally went for 19s even though the roads around here are shitty (the 18s are for my brother). |

Thanks guys but maybe u do not understand: I love my 18" rims with 235 front tires and 255 rears - but I have already fixed 3 bent rims ! Not a safe situation - but I cannot find a nice 17x 8.5" four square rim setup !! The nicest rim designs r only in 18" & 19"
