Strange shape + fixings under floor in trunk

Apologies if this has been asked before - I searched and didn't find anything.

Under the floor in the trunk (boot) of my E92 there is a moulded plastic tray which can be used to store stuff. What's unusual though is there is a deeper depression and around this are three threaded metal inserts that look like something is meant to bolt into them. Does anyone know what goes in there? Is there some optional extra that I didn't get? Just curious ...

i think thats for the optional gun turrets, but i may be wrong.

that's probably going to be used an the M models to store the mobility kit.

I've been wondering the same... I've asked at the parts counter and got some spiel about a 6 series toolkit. What really confused me was looking at the accessory catalog (only had one there) it appears that is an insert and others are available. Anyone have a scanned in '07 e90/92 accessory catalog?
