Thumbs up BMW M1 test car spotted testing on Nurburgring!

>> VIDEO HERE

Spotted during testing on the Nurburgring today was the BMW M1 test mule!

This test mule doesn't wear the more advanced prototype M1 body as we posted earlier, but is out testing powertrain, chassis, suspension, and handling properties. We also see for the first time what could be the carbon fiber roof.

As far as the roof goes, I think they've just pulled the sunroof out and used a piece of CF to cover the hole on this car. I'm guessing the actual M car will get the entire roof done in CF instead of just half.

Why is the 'carbon fiber' only on the front half of the roof. looks more like a shroud covering the sunroof hole.

If they do quads it'll just be an aesthetic thing.... I bet they don't even know what to call it yet and are afraid that if they slap an extra set of pipes on it then everyone will go crazy that its an M car and BMW doesn't want to deal with that aspect just yet.

Engine sounds a little odd to me... A little lower in tone perhaps.

agree with the the roof, quads, and the fact that there is not set name lol....and the engine does sound a bit quiet for a M car...guessing a new intake and the quads will increase the tone since?!?

Overall, I am looking forward to an M1 introduction.....now I have to win the lottery....

It's a prototype still. No one knows for sure.

The rumors are around 350Hp and 3300lbs.

Did anyone else click the M3 GTS video right above this one and notice how much quicker the 1er looked through that section? Perhaps the M3 driver was not pushing it as hard but you can see the potential Nice!

I'd rather see them save the weight personally. The M exhaust on the M3 and M5 is HEAVY!
