About the sunroof
hi....I want to get the sunroof option but I am afraid because alot of my friends had problems (BMW and other brand cars). They told me they will never put a sunroof again also they said after a while the roof starts to rattle and sometimes water goes through when it rains.I don't know what to do.On my E36 1995 coupe that i sold a few months ago i wanted the sunroof when i was buying the car 10 years ago but i was afraid to buy the option. This time i am really want the sunroof but still worrying for rattles and water leaks. Can someone help me out because i'm not sleeping nights because of this.(please don't laugh) Thanks..........

That stuff is all in the past! I had a 93 accord with a sunroof and it never ever rattled or leaked in its 130,000 mile adventures! I will never buy a car without a sunroof, as it makes it feel much roomier inside
99 4Runner- no leaks or rattles 04RX330 no rattles or leaks You will be fine |

Why bother with a sunroof, when you have automatic climate control. I personally don't see the point, and there's always that risk of them leaking.
It's the same with cabrios. I just wouldn't...my opinon though. |

Because it's great to have the sun shining on you on a nice summer day while you're driving and also like booyah said, it just makes the cabin feel even bigger when you have it open. The sunroof is not going to leak, trust me.

It might rattle over time, but it will never leak, lol. Have some faith in BMW engineering. BTW rattles are easy to fix with some petroleum lubricant

I've never had a leak or a rattle with a sunroof. If you're in the US, you don't have a choice, the sunroof is standard on both the 325 and 330 e90s.

I own an 11 year-old Acura Integra with a sunroof/moonroof and it doesn't leak or rattle. I really don't think it should be an issue.
There is the issue of getting less headroom when you order it with a sunroof. In the U.S. we don't have the option as its standard now. I would order it anyway but... Is it just me or could the car really use like another inch of headroom, especially in the rear! I sat in the car yesterday and I was just really surprised at the lack of headroom in the back. I'm only 5'11" and my head was hitting the headliner if I sat up regularly. |

I had an audi a4 for eight years, 120,000 kms with sunroof, it didn't have any problem, but the point is, I can even count how many times I've used it during the past 8 years

When I bought my first BMW (E36) which had a sunroof, it was already 5 years old. I never had any problem with the sunroof in the 3 years that I owned it, and that's a pretty good record for a car that was 8 years old. I made use of the sunroof very frequently.
