E92 335i comes joint 4th in EVO CoTY

Just got EVO magazine, and the 335i Coupe (manual of course) came joint 4th in part 1 "affordable performance Car of The Year" test.

Interestingly, it beat the Z4 3.0si (which came joint 6th). "The 335i has the better chassis and steering. They've even made the run-flat tyres work!" They really like the engine too. In fact the review is so good it makes me wonder if I should have tried the 335i manual before getting the 335d ...

The conclusion is on page 112 if you're browsing in the newsagents. ;-)

What came 1,2 +3. I almost bought a new Z4 so now I'm happier that I didn't and opted for the 335i instead.

1st = Lotus Elise S, 2nd = Renaultsport Megane 230, 3rd = Evo FQ-360, and joint 4th (with 335i Coupe) was Lotus Exige S. BMW Z4 3.0si was joint 6th with Mini Cooper S Works GP.

Did it take place at Rockingham by any chance? Just wondering as I see that there are 3 BMWs in the line up.

Don't expect to see a 335d to be included in a sports car test. People can't see a diesel being sportive. Even tho on paper a petrol car performs better, I really like the character of a diesel engine .... it's fun driving the "underdog"
