Custom Exhaust / Warranty question???

I have an 08 328i with CPO warranty...

If I were to do a custom exhaust changing the car over to dual exhaust set-up, would this void my warranty? Would the dealer give me a hard time with warranty issues if it needed service?

It will void the warranty covering your exhaust. So if a cat goes bad then you have to cover it.

What about engine wise...

It there was a prob with the motor in the future, can they try saying it was due to the exhaust set-up?

Warranty law will not allow them to get away with it.

My dealer United in Atlanta is cool as shit, so it doesn't matter.

But no they can't.

Sure they can. Will they...who knows? But BMW seems to be seizing on mods as an excuse to deny warranty claims lately, so they might try. Despite what other posters have said, the Magnusson-Moss act does not really protect individual owners, unless you have the wherewithall to sue. BMW has more lawyers and definitely deeper pockets than you do, otherwise you wouldn't be worried about this issue to begin with.

Personally, I wouldn't do it, particularly on a trouble-prone car like our 335i.
