if people were speeding then they deserverd the tickets. But to call A-channel and then the poor reporting and infering that vehicles were being impounded and children taken from wild driving parents, rediculous.

Vancouver cops do it too. It wasn’t long ago when one of the Vancouver meets was gaffled by the long arm of the law as well. One of the guys even made a formal complaint to the RCMP that they were all treated like criminals only for having a meet & greet. I wonder what ever came of that......

I would never inform the OPP. Sure, he did the "mature" thing, but things like this just go to show you can never really work with the law.

Sounds like something that has been happening for years - Government using the media as a medium to instill: .....drum-roll please....

It's not all cops - there are many "journalists" that are basically ambulance chasers. Especially in small towns, the media will visit the police daily to learn about yesterday's reports and the day's plans.

According to one of the commentators, the Mini's simply ran into an existing speed trap - not laid for them. On occasion, the media films these for stock footage - slow news days need backup stories. It could have been a coincidence.

Anyway, if this is the case, they should tone down the rant about this incident, and find another one. Don't worry, the police state will give drivers lots of other things to rant about.
