Shots from the BMW Across America tour today (San Francisco)
First thing I have to note is that my crappy Sony V1 camera has a bad lens aberation when it comes to shooting objects less than 10 feet away. So the pictures you see here of the 330i don't really do justice to when you see it in person. The 3 series isn't as round as you'd think based on amateur photos, and there is a substantial amount of creases and sharp bends on the chassis. It does look larger than an e46. Slightly. And the lower stance makes it look sportier, too. Inside, the interior isn't so overwhelming yet still has that "wraps around you" feel. It reminds me of an e46's interior, only in widescreen and well-sculpted. My old opinion is that the plastics they use didn't meet my standards based on the pictures I saw circulating around the internet, but that all changed when I climbed on board. "It wasn't bad at all," I thought. One complaint a fellow spectator said is that the retractable glove compartment cup holders can bang on your passenger's knees if they have long legs. True. Overall, it has great potential written all over it. Feels like it's made out of "thick" material and not something cheap, and the creases outside that follow those inside make it feel unique, advanced, and confident of being that way. It's comforting to know that this new generation is a well-designed platform and I can only think of almost no required improvements other than the front kidney grille (my personal opinion, it hasn't grown on me yet).

Well I hope you had fun at the event. I was registered to go but I couldn't make it. I have a massive project with a deadline tomorrow. I was disappointed not to go. Also looks like a nice view from wherever it was held. Oh well, I should have my test drive next week to make up for it.

Thank you for sharing Phoenix. Out of all the 3AAs that looks like it had the best location (beautiful backdrop). Silver is looking better and better each time i look at it too!
