OPP and euro licence plates

I just recieved a custom made German/Euro plate ($22 US from Germany www.grtpl8s.com) with my Ontario registration numbers AYLL ### . Is it safe to use this on either the front or back. i'm kind afraid to use it on the back but it looks amazing as the E90 trunk is designed for the very wide plate (I could place the registration sticker on it). The holes are even there underneath the Canadian plate adapter. What about the front? I know the registration is on the back so is it safe to use on the front? Its not like I'm trying to hid something- I'm using my real registration numbers.

I just wish we would have a legal option like Australia does. Anybody have any contacts in the Ontario goverment whom I could speak to about this issue- about actually getting real euro-sized Ontario plates for european car owners?

A while back, I read about how the law requires license plates must be issued by the government only. So yes, euro plates are illegal and they attract more attention from police too!

Can't help with your question, but just a comment that I'm glad here in NS a front plate isn't required. I prefer the clean look, but if ever I wanted a euro front plate, I could put anything I wanted on the front as long as the back was legit.

We have a member on e46toronto.ca that has been running a front Euro plate with his Ontario lic. number on it for quite a while now... and everytime I see him if he's been pulled over yet... he says "no".

But then it really depends on the cop, the force (OPP, Metro, Durham, York etc.) and what area you're in... some are really anal, other's don't care too much.

Afaik it's printed on a vinyl sticker, which is then stuck on the bumper, so it can be removed.
