335 Coupe - Door won't close

Hi All -

To preface, I have CA installed in my 335. When I tried to close the driver side door this morning after getting out, the door won't close. There was a loud "clunk" sound as if the seat belt is in the way (but it is not). After trying the close it a second time (a lot slower this time) to no avail, I realized the door HAD been in the lock mode so I guess the hook in the door is hitting the latch on the car body. I had to pull on the door handle in order to close the door properly. My guess is my hand some how triggered the door to be locked, but I thought that isn't possible if the door is open. Anyway, I just wanted to see what you guys think or have experienced before.

Cheers.

Never had this happen on my car with CA. Are you sure it isn't the "door handles stick when cold" issue some people have had? Sounds like similar symptoms.

EDIT - looks like you're in SoCal, so probably not.

what do you mean by had CA installed? Your car did not come with CA when you took delivery and brought the car back to get CA installed as an add on later? If so how is that possible? Your point about door should not lock when ajar is valid.

My bad. What I meant to say is that my car has CA.

This used to happen in cars long before CA or its equivalents were conceived. Usually chocked up to a rare alignment of celestial bodies (ie, extremely infrequent annoyance)

If it persists visit the dealership.
