I came down from Jersey with cash and I had full intention of buying this car, you could have at least had the courtesy to tell me before I showed up that you were planning on selling it to someone who was coming the DAY AFTER I came to see it. Very unprofessional.

I don't know what your other communications were with him, but "very interested, will be in arlington this weekend" doesn't mean take it off the market. When I emailed him on Thursday he responded by saying
Quote:
Full disclosure: I've had a potential buyer book a flight from Austin, TX to come out here on Sunday and possibly purchase the car.
So it's not like he was just out to be a d!ck.

He also told me in the email he had an engagement dinner on Friday night, so cut the man some slack.

Hey Dave - sorry you feel that way. I corresponded with this guy at pretty much the same time as I did with you and he booked a flight early the next morning. At that point I didn't have any money from anyone - but someone booking a $500 plane ticket to see the car was akin to putting down a deposit in my mind.

If I didn't tell you through text, phone or email that there was another potential buyer coming from Austin - you're right - that is completely my fault. I really thought I told you that, but I corresponded with nearly 40 people last week (including setting up six perspective appointments to see it) - so there is a possibility that I dropped the ball. If so, I am sorry.

Anyway, I really wasn't trying to be a d*ck. But I hope you find another e39 that you like soon...

No worries man, I know selling a car like this on forums becomes a a small job, but I had several email, phone, and text conversations and not one time was a buyer from Austin mentioned until I arrived to see the car in person. I know you're intentions were not malicious. The car was mint as you described in the ad, someone really got a great car
