Smile n55 Tuning Update

Hi guys,
Quick update. We've been busy porting Procede v4 over to the n55. So far, we've made some good progress. As of today, we have the following working:

-Code reading/clearing (first ever for the n55?)
-DTC mapswitching

I'll post videos showing these bits in action tomorrow

Once we have CAN logging working, the rest of the job is reasonably easy. I'll keep you guys updated. But so far, our biggest concern was code reading/clearing. Without that ability, any tune is pretty useless.

Cheers,
shiv

Very cool. How does the power delivery feel?

Stock for stock, the n55 feels better than the n54. Some of that might be due to the short gearing and 7speed DCT. But still, i think the engine runs better. Tuned for tuned, I don't know yet. It will be a pretty big challenge for the n55 to respond to tuning as well as the n54 has. We'll see...

for those of us who arent just power hungry, this could be a great engine for us - smooth power delivery and hopefully minimal lag, id accept any increase in power (obviously more the better) but i think it will be a great time to showcase just how centered and balanced this new engine is. what im sayin is it doesnt have to be a 400whp monster, lets make it f1 smooth and responsive

EDIT: oh ya, and MAJOR PROPS to shiv haha

Terry fromBMS mentioned that the n54 felt stronger. Interesting to hear different perspective. Once everything is ported, will you run both these engine together. I would like to see them neck and neck at the track with the v4.
Have you implemented launch control as well?

I am also skeptical as Shiv probably hasn't driven a stock N54 in years

Shiv, will you be able to use the same exact PROcede hardware (perhaps with a different harness and of course different map) on the N55?

Outstanding news... I hear harness will be ready by the end of the month? (unless Robert was fibbing j/k)... I just ordered my new N55 X5, will be here by middle of august

Dealership showed me all service work done on my 335, the HPFP had been replaced once before I bought the car, and again when I had it done 4k miles ago... Pissed me off that the dealership didn't disclose that when they sold me the car a year ago... But I digress (Off Topic).

Are you sure about that? Last I checked, BT wasn't compatible with the new DME. I'm sure that will changed eventually of course.
