TCK D/A Spring Rates
I am currently running 400/500 springs but feel at the track I can use a stiffer set-up. Anyone running the TCK D/A on the Mcoupe and tracking? If so, what spring rates are you going with?

This is Two months after your post, but I have a 3.0i with 550F /700R and it is awesome. I primarily autocross, and use a square tire setup also.

For a dry track I run 8 clicks from full soft front and rear bump and one half turn from full firm front rebound and one turn from full firm rebound rear.

Thanks Jim - I was looking at swamping the springs out to 500-600 but I may hold off and look into the moton set-up for next season. Did you swap your sway as well?

Hmmm maybe we could work something out because I am looking at going with the 600/700 set up. I currently have the 525/650 set up

They should be able too. Both TCK and GC use the same Koni shock I believe. I guess he only variable is what TCK valves their shock too. I guess the best person to ask would be TCK

Yea I know for the TCK they use the vvs springs but the koni shocks can only handle I would think max 700. Would be interested to here what TCK has to say about run that type of spring rate on the m coupe.

I had the TC Kline 500/600 and it was way too soft. I eventually ran 550 front and 700 rear, but then it began over springing the dampers. I got rid of mine and threw them away.

I had 800 lb rear springs on my E46M3 and the TCK DA shocks seemed to work well with those springs; however this was primarily on smooth racetracks not nearly as demanding as the Nurburgring (which I believe is RussRamz playground) so I believe that for autocross or most US racetracks they are OK at up to 800 lb spring rates. During a conversation with Pete at TCK a few years ago I recall he said that they don't sell any springs higher than 700 lbs, but he didn't say that the shocks can't handle a higher spring rate. Hope that helps. I haven't done a full suspension on my Z4MC but I think that 700 lb springs in the back is as high as I would go. I cannot speak from direct experience however.

I have a custom 2 way KW Competition setup. They cannot be ordered off the shelf, but it's quite easy to have a set made and delivered if you're willing to wait for them to be built-up (2 weeks) and shipped (another 2 weeks or so if shipping stateside).

I am running KW CS and like it for the street compliance and track capability.
Just trying to compare to other spring rates....anyone know what the KW CS spring rates are (front is linear, rear is progressive) ? |
